The Black Unity Foundation is organizing two days heritage education tour to Agortime-kpetoe in the Volta region of Ghana purposely for the KENTE FESTIVAL. The Kente Festival also known as "AGBAMEVORZA" was converted from an ancient Agortime ritual known as "LOOM PURIFICATION" in the year 1995 to keep alive for posperity the origin of Kente cloth weaving by their ancestors.
Theme for this year's Kente Festival: "ATTITUDINAL CHANGE:THE PANACEA FOR OUR FUTURE DEVELOPMENT".
Programs/Activities: FRIDAY, 9TH AUGUST -Firing of Musketry( Heroes/Heroines Day) - Maidens water Fetching -Kente weaving competition
SATURDAY,10TH AUGUST -Procession of the King, Chiefs, Queen mothers and Palanquin ride by warlords -Grand Durbur -"TOTOKPAKPA" Food Bazaar and Street Carnival - Borborbor Music and Dances.
